Here is our betting preview as Columbus Crew FC welcome Orlando City on 24/07/2016 to the Mapfre Stadium. We will bring you all the latest team news along with the match stats and bet predictions. Columbus Crew shared the points with visitors DC United in their last fixture. Orlando City travelled to Vancouver Whitecaps and salvaged a point from the game.
Columbus Crew were held to a draw by visitors D.C United recently. Neither team looked impressive as they played out what was a very poor first half. The second half showed little more promise. However, Columbus took the lead through an Ola Kamara goal in the sixty-third minute. Columbus almost made it to the finishing line, and that was until Fabian Espindola scored in the eighty-ninth minute to salvage a point. Next up for Columbus in Orlando City, a team that punished Columbus last time around with a 5-2 drubbing. Fans will be hoping they can turn it around this time of asking.
Orlando City took an early lead as they faced Vancouver Whitecaps, Julio Baptista opened the scoring in the fourteenth minute with a well-taken goal. Vancouver Whitecaps battled hard to get back into the game, and it was Nicolas Mezquida who levelled the game as he scored in the thirty-fifth minute. This spurred Vancouver on, and they took the lead just eight minutes later as Masato Kudo hit home in the forty-third minute. Orlando looked a new side as they started the second half and Cyle Larin levelled the game in the fiftieth minute, however, that was to be the last goal of the match, and it finished off a draw. Orlando will hope they can do better when they travel to Columbus City, a team they thumped last time out.
Columbus Crew is missing Matt Pacifici (concussion symptoms), Gaston Sauro (torn PCL) and possibly Federico Higuain (hernia surgery) and Conor Casey (right knee sprain).
Orlando City is without Pedro Ribeiro (back surgery), Kaká (groin strain), Harrison Heath (sprained MCL), Rafael Ramos (hamstring injury) and Tommy Redding (hamstring injury). RJ Allen and David Villa both have four Yellow cards to their name.
Neither team are really on form, but Orlando have performed better against the harder opposition of late so they should be able to dispatch Columbus Crew.
