DC United travelled to Toronto FC and came away having been thoroughly outplayed by the home team. Toronto took the lead in the twenty-first minute through Sebastian Giovinco. However, the lead was short-lived as DC United got the game back on level terms courtesy of a Jared Jeffrey goal in the twenty-fourth minute. No sooner had the crowd sat back down in their seats, Marky Delgado regained the lead for Toronto scoring his goal in the twenty-ninth minute. Things became much harder for DC United as they went further behind in the thirty-ninth minute as Sebastian Giovinco scored his second of the game, giving Toronto a comfortable lead before half time. The second half was nothing to write about, neither team looking to do much, and Giovinco scored his hat-trick just before the final whistle as he linked up with Mark Bloom to make it 4-1. Next up is Montreal Impact who sit fourth in the league table. This will be a tough game for DC, and they will need to put in a much better performance that their last one if they are to save further embarrassment.
Montreal Impact gave Philadelphia Union a lesson in football as they hammered them 5-1. Didier Drogba was on fire in this game, scoring in the nineteenth minute, forty-second minute and again in the fifty-second minute. Philadelphia looked lost at sea, and their only ray of light was in the seventy-second minute, when Chris Pontius scored. However, that was to no effect as Ignacio Piatti scored in the eighty-sixth minute followed by Matteo Mancosu in the last seconds of added time. Next up is DC United, a team they beat 2-0 the last time they met, with DC’s heavy defeat and Montreal’s goal bonanza this could be a game to watch!
DC United is without Chris Korb (right ACL tear), Collin Martin (foot injury), Chris Rolfe (concussion), Alhaji Kamara (right hamstring injury) and Bill Hamid (hand injury). Steve Birnbaum has four yellow cards to his name.
Montreal Impact is missing Andres Romero (torn ACL ), Wandrille Lefevre (groin injury) and Laurent Ciman (sprained ankle). Lucas Ontivero has four Yellow cards to his name.
This has to be a game where Montreal Impact are firm favourites. DC are not playing well, and Montreal just thumped Philadelphia, this could be a goal fest for Montreal.
