We will bring you all the latest team news along with the match stats and bet predictions. Houston Dynamo FC threw away a two-goal lead as they were handed a defeat by Portland Timbers. Philadelphia Union lost their ten games unbeaten run at the hands of Vancouver Whitecaps as the visitors beat them 3-2.
Houston Dynamo will be very upset having thrown away what looked like a comfortable two goal lead against Portland Timbers. Andrew Wenger gave Houston the lead in the twenty-eight minute and just two minutes later Will Bruin doubled their advantage as he hit home from a Boniek Garcia assist. However, the second have was all one-way traffic as Portland Timbers hit three past Houston. Lucas Melano scored in the sixty-fourth minute, and Diego Valeri levelled the game in the eighty-second minute to the despair of all the Houston supporters. It was Diego Valeri who had the last say as he snatched all three points available in added time from the Penalty Spot. Houston now faces high flyers Philadelphia Union, a game they know will push them to the limit. Houston lost their last fixture 2-0 and knew they would have to be on top of their game if they are to gain anything from this fixture.
Table toppers Philadelphia Union didn’t have enough in their tank to defeat Vancouver Whitecaps and kiss goodbye to their ten-game run without defeat. Roland Alberg gave Philadelphia the lead, but it was short lived. Andrew Jacobson levelled the game for Vancouver and then before half time Kekuta Manneh gave Vancouver the lead in the forty-first minute. Christian Bolanos made it three for Vancouver in the eighty-fourth minute and looked to have put the game to bed. Philadelphia did give themselves hope as Chris Pontius scored deep into added time, but it wasn’t to be, and Philadelphia’s great unbeaten run came to an end. Now Philadelphia needs to win to reassure themselves this defeat isn’t the start of things to come.
Houston Dynamo is missing Rob Lovejoy (right ankle injury).
Philadelphia Union is without Maurice Edu (left tibia stress reaction) and possibly C.J. Sapong (ankle injury).
Philadelphia have been the most consistent team all season and despite this recent defeat, they should return to winning ways against Houston Dynamo.
