Montreal Impact v Philadelphia Union – Betting Preview

Here is our betting preview as Montreal Impact welcome Philadelphia Union on 23rd/07/2016 to the Stade Saputo. We will bring you all the latest team news along with the match stats and bet predictions. Montreal Impact lost their first game in six at the hands of New York City Fc, losing the game 3-1. Philadelphia Union returned to winning ways as they beat D.C. United by three goals.

Montreal Impact were unbeaten in five games before taking on New York City FC, a run of form the hoped they could continue. However, things didn’t work out, and New York City took the lead in the thirty-fifth minute through a David Villa goal. Just as the first half was coming to an end, Jack Harrison doubled New York’s lead as he hit home in the dying seconds linking up well with Tommy McNamara. Montreal did give themselves hope shortly after the second half got underway as Harry Shipp scored in the fifty-fifth minute, but it just wasn’t enough and in the eighty-fifth minute Frank Lampard sealed the victory for New York as he hit home, ending any hope Montreal had. Now Montreal faces Philadelphia Union, a team they have not managed to defeat since April 2014.

Philadelphia Union defeated D.C. United in what was an easy game for Union. Two first half goals and one soon after the restart left D.C. United without any reply. Roland Alberg put Philadelphia ahead as he successfully converted his Penalty Kick in the twentieth minute, and as if lightening doesn’t strike twice, Philadelphia was awarded a second Penalty kick in the thirty-seventh minute which Ilsinho converted with ease. The second half underway and Ilsinho scored his second of the game as he linked up with C.J Sapong and made it three from Philadelphia in the forty-seventh minute. D.C. United looked lost at sean and never actually threatened Philadelphia. Next up is Montreal, a team not far behind Philadelphia in the league and a team they have had success against in the past.

Betting Preview

A game both teams need points from and will no doubt be reluctant to push forward too hard in case of getting caught at the back. This game could well end up a draw.
