New York Red Bulls recent signing Omer Damari, got his first goal for the club in the sides 1-1 draw with Alianza.
It was not an easy night for New York Red Bulls in the CONCACAF Champions League as they had to travel a long way. However, they managed to got a valuable point away from home in group F, which could prove pivotal later in the season.
The first half didn’t see any goals, but it did see a lot of physicalness with the referee giving out three yellow cards. You could tell both sides were desperate to get something from the game and with Red Bulls traveling so far, they didn’t want to go home with nothing to show for their efforts.
The second half started brighter, with the home side clinching the lead in the 54th minute. This came from Alexander Larin who put home a left footed free kick, which was to good for the goalkeeper to palm away.
New York Red Bulls really started to push after going behind, and were rewarded for it in the 71st minute as new signing Omer Damari slotted home a tidy finish to become the hero with his new teammates and supporters.
The point was well earned, and in the end, it was probably the fair result for both sides. This leaves New York Red Bulls at the top of group F, three points above any other side. Although, they have played an extra game than the two other clubs in their group.
You can next see New York Red Bulls on Sunday the 21st of August as they travel away to DC United, hoping to gt another three points on the board in the MLS.
