Seattle Sounders defender, Roman Torres, has returned to full training with his teammates, after being out since last September with an ACL injury.
It has been a key week for the club, who have recently got a boost in the squad going forward, with Nicolas Lodeiro signing for the club. It may be a great week if they can get a key member of the defence back too.
Monday was the first time that Roman got through a full training session with Seattle Sounders which would have been a huge plus for himself, and the coaching staff at the club. The centre-half has been training in recent weeks, but has had limits on what he can, and cannot do. This would have been frustrating for him, but he is now free to do the full session with his teammates.
It is still unknown when the centre back will make his return to the field, but head coach Brian Schmetzer all but ruled him out of this weekends game when they travel to Orlando.
Here is what Brian had to say: ‘This weekend is probably too soon. He needs a full week, and the Orlando game is on the road and turf. But we’ll keep him on the right path.’
Roman Torres signed last summer, making just four appearances before the horrible injury. It is going to be like having a new signing for Seattle, and for Torres, it is his time to show everyone at the club what he is made of.
