Toronto FC returned to winning ways as they defeated DC United 4-1. Columbus Crew still can’t find that elusive victory they so desperately seek as they drew with Orlando City 2-2
Toronto FC bounced back with a win following their defeat at the hands of San Jose Earthquakes. This time, they made no mistake as they beat DC United with ease. Toronto took the lead through Sebastian Giovinco in the twenty-fourth minute of the game. DC United levelled the game shortly after as Jared Jeffrey hit home in the twenty-fourth minute, however, Marky Delgado regained the lead just five minutes later as he scored to make is 2-1. Sebastian Giovinco then made it three as he scored in the thirty-ninth minute to give Toronto a comfortable lead. The second half nothing much happened really until the in-from Sebastian Giovinco scored his third goal of the game as he hit home in added time. Next up for Toronto is Columbus Crew, a team that are struggling to find a run of winning form so far this season.
Columbus Crew still cannot find that winning formula as they drew their third game in a row. Despite taking a two-goal lead, Columbus fell apart in the second half. Tony Tchani gave Columbus the lead in the twentieth minute and Ola Kamara made it two as he successfully converted a Penalty kick late in added time of the first half. However, this was not to be enough for Columbus and Orlando’s Kevin Molino scored their first goal in the sixty-fifth minute and then Cyle Larin levelled the game in the seventieth minute. Columbus have not won a league game in their last eight games, and with Toronto FC next it could quite easily be nine!
Toronto FC is without Daniel Lovitz (knee injury), Ashtone Morgan (foot injury), Clint Irwin (quad injury), Michael Bradley (knee sprain) and Will Johnson (tibial plateau fracture).
Columbus Crew is missing Matt Pacifici (concussion symptoms), Gaston Sauro (torn PCL) and possibly Conor Casey (right knee sprain) and Ben Swanson (right shoulder sprain).
Toronto FC are favourites to win this game. Columbus can’t get over the final hurdle at the moment and win games. On the other hand, Toronto have been looking in good shape recently.
