USMNT Face Difficult Challenge Against Brazil

The U.S men’s national team (USMNT) face a difficult challenge when they play Brazil in their Kickoff Series which will commence Friday 7th September at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, followed by a match against Mexico in Nashville on September 11th

Brazil who are loaded with attacking talent and ranked 3rd in the FIFA World Rankings, will be looking to bounce back from their disappointing World Cup in which they crashed out in the quarter-finals with a 2-1 loss to Belgium.

Interim head coach Dave Sarachan has once again gone with a very youthful squad with an average age of 23 and will introduce new players for the challenging upcoming friendlies in October and November.

“For these matches against Brazil and Mexico, the theme remains the same in that we are using the opportunity against these high-powered opponents to continue building on the foundation that we’ve laid,” head coach Dave Sarachan said.

“We felt it was right to continue allowing this group to get valuable experience for the big picture that includes competitive matches in the future with the Gold Cup, Olympic qualifying and World Cup qualifying.”
